Sitting around a hunting camp, talking about hunting and rifles a few years ago, the topic came to suppressors, specifically for lighter weight hunting rifles. There really wasn't anything out there. After much thought, George Gardner took the idea to Mack Brothers in Sturgis, South Dakota. Criteria: Lighter, shorter, smaller diameter, and still effective. Specs: 6" long, with 1.5 inches of that goes back towards the shooter, making it extend the barrel only 4.5"(Reflex style) Weight: 7.2 ounces. Thread pitch: 1/2X28-9/16X24-5/8X24. Mine are both 1/2X28. I had two rifles cut back, and threaded, My old X Hunter 6.5 SAUM(19 1/2"), and my lightweight 22 CM(17 1/2"). The 6.5 SAUM shot pretty good....A little bit of a challenge when it's -17F. It was dead calm though. Noise level to me from behind the rifles, was the 22M was a bit less report, than the larger 6.5 SAUM. Compared to my Omega 300 cans, I'd say slightly louder. An interesting note on the 22 CM. When the barrel was 22"(1-7") I had worked up a very accurate load with the 88gr ELD-M...in warmer weather..;) Yesterday in subzero temps. it wouldn't stabilize the 88's. I went home and grabbed a box of 75 ELD-M's I had laying around, and they shot lights out. It produced a 1.5"- 5 shot group at 200M with the 75gr load. My other 22 CM has a 16" barrel, and is 1-6.5", and does fine with the 88's in subzero temps.... More testing to come...….
Luck....is the residue of design...

Damn....That's light for a 308 suppressor. What kind of price range will they go for??
I was looking yesterday and need to go ahead and get in line for my tax stamps. Best I could find in stock was the DeadAir Sandman Ti...16.8 ozs and 8.2". But it's $699. The Omega 300 is good, too...but it's $999 where I was looking and the only place in town that has a kiosk that does everything in one whack (fingerprints, photo, letter to CLEO, etc.).

Search: GA Precision Jager suppressor. There's more details to look at, specs etc.. Not many of these are out in the field yet.
George's first shipment from Mack Brothers was for 100 units, and there's still a few unsold right now. His order is in for another supply.
I'm pretty sure MSRP is right around $600.

Great specs! I'll definitely be interested to read more.

I've just started looking into a hunting suppressor. I would need .338 compatibility though. I like the design of this one for sure.

Thunderbeast Arms Ultra Series says hi. They've been the premiere ultra light weight, rugged suppressor choice for quite a while.

If I remember correctly from the thread on this can on the hide, the main drawbacks were that it has much lower limits on rate of fire, and longer minimum barrel lengths than most competitors. Also the rifle's muzzle had to be under something like 0.75" diameter for the reflexed portion of the can to fit.
Not something I would want as a general use can, but if you already had a bunch, didn't want an Ultra for some reason, and were going for absolute lightest and shortest, this could be a good option. I'd be interested to see how it meters on something like the Pulse system.

Dealer got my deposit money.....

Some people have a problem spending a grand on $75 worth of metal. A can made for 1-2 shots at a time should be way cheaper to build than a can for FA fire.

I like it! It's only 3 oz more than the brake I've been using...

Unfortunately for those of us on the wrong side of the 49th, the suppressor updates are like salt in a wound... But, much appreciate this info on the 88! A 22CM build is high on my list, and I was planning on a 1-7". Thanks for sharing your experience.
I've seen more well-shot game lost with TSXs than any other premium bullet.

I'm pretty sure MSRP is right around $600. LGS has them for less than 400. Was looking at one for my 308. I am waiting on a tax stamp for a hybrid46 so holding off on the Jager for now.

I don't really have a need for something like the Dominus, but it does look awesome, if you want the apex of light and tough, and like the SR system.

Are you sure that wasn't the AAC Jaeger 30? https://www.capitolarmory.com/aac-rifle-suppressor-7-62-jaeger-30.htmlI didn't think the GAPs were really out in the wild yet, and I think the MSRP is ~$600, the AAC Jaeger, on the other hand has been out for a while and usually sells in that range.
