Headed to the Virginia Lobby Day...but like the army is, they're runnin' a little late. He said they were headed west out of San Antonio. Obviously it was headed to West Virginia.

They were going to be used against us in Richmond Monday but they changed their minds last minute when they heard fireball and steve4102 warned us of their nefarious plans. If you watch, there will be a train carrying the UN troops, death chambers and 1000's of body bags coming through right behind it. Bud you need to settle down. You know VA is East of TX, right?

I was a tanker in the army back in the day. That gives me a woody... Tankers rule I don't know about that... I enjoyed being part of Army Aviation for a couple of years.. and have served supporting armor units out on training in a medical capacity... I will concede to, Armor sure has some fun toys to play with...

Agree, headed to Ft Irwin. While stationed at Ft Stewart from 85-89 I participated in a couple rotations at NTC. Was General Schwartzkopf still the Commander when you were there?

NTC Ft Irwin baby. I loaded a battalion of armor onto train cars back in 84. Ft Stewart GA to NTC and return. 24th ID. We loaded them and the 197th Inf Bde out during Operation Desert Shield in '90. I'm assuming ID = Infantry Division? 197th Infantry Brigade. Now Inactive. 197th Infantry Brigade

They desert training area out in California Twenty-Nine Palms USMC base is the only location in the USA that the US Army can shoot live tank rounds!

I think that it is actually self propelled artillery, they look like M109A6's to me, with 155mm howitzers.

Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.

It's been since 1970 that I was there, and can't recall the tracks. But then I don't remember a lot of late 60's and early 70's!😬

I spent 20 years working on tanks, even served with 79S, and I'm pretty sure we fired tank rounds at Fort Irwin California, Yakima Training Center, Washington. Fort Carson, Colorado, and Fort Knox, Kentucky. Maybe 29 Palms is the only place the Marines shoot main gun rounds.

Every month a Brigade (7000 soldiers) goes to Fort Irwin CA at the National Training Center to train. Many heavy mech units bring some of their own equipment. They railhead into Yermo CA, unload and road march across the desert to the NTC.
