But 50M is a sobering number and included deaths in the Pacific islands and the Arctic. How'd that happen without air travel? With dense packed cities, air travel, and the constant mixing of people I can see a death toll in the 100's of millions not being unrealistic from the next epidemic that slips past the front line and makes into the world wide general population.
