Man, now I’m second guessing.
Only thing I can think is that this Jarhead guy’s account got hacked by a scammer OR he’s legit.
Just went back and looked and the backpack he keeps talking about buying was purchased from one of my best friends on the planet who I’d trust unequivocally. I just reached out to him and he said the deal went off without a hitch, he was paid immediately, and there was no foul play.
Unless this Jarhead dude’s account was hacked and/or he bought a backpack a year and a half ago to set up this scam, I’m scratching my head.

I’ve had a face to face deal with watch4bear here in Alaska and I wouldn’t consider him to be someone to be dishonest. With it being far more recent, I’m still inclined to believe 284blr and think that Jarhead’s account got hacked by someone trying to do this PayPal scam. I bet he’s really loud right now trying to get something to happen before the ship has sailed. If I had to guess, we won’t hear much more out of this Jarhead dude in a few more days.

Beware, the guy is a scammer. Sent money via PayPal, gave bogus contact info of the shop he wanted to use, while filing for a refund via PayPal, and asking me to still ship the gun. According to PayPal this is a common scam, they get the merchandise, and a refund, from stolen credit cards. They advised to hold on to the money for 30 days in case PayPal reverses the charges. I didn’t notice till afterwards that he only had 6 posts. After 30 days, a donation in the full amount will be made to the NRA. Interested in the scam Paypal mentioned explained, 284BLR, if you don't mind sharing. I am gathering that A SUSPECT PURCHASER uses Paypal to purchase an item, using a credit card vs funds already in Paypal's system? Then after the item is received by the scammer( seems he jumped the gun if he filed for a refund before receiving the gun so the scam didn't work out if that was really his intention) and if the "scam" worked they would have the item in hand, then they file to paypal for a refund saying they never received the item, and when Paypal refunds his credit card what he paid you with? so if it gets that far the result is you shipped merchandise and he got back the funds he paid you? Not good! More curious to understand how to avoid this scam scenario that paypal explained to you, 284 BLR. It seems he decided Jan 19th he just wanted to back out of the deal, is that about when he filed for a refund through Paypal? Thanks if you don't mind sharing how this scam works. It actually seems he could have just chosen a bad receiving FFL ? Lots of other gun dealers in Albuquerque when I worked there back in the 1990's.
