Ken what are your thoughts on this? Some say yes, that the bolt face is where the force belongs not the walls. Some will say the opposite.

Why bother? Polishing striikes me as a waste of time and effort. A well reamed chamber is smooth enough. Microscopic tool marks don't offer enough resistance to extraction (assuming sane peak pressures) to make polishing necessary.
If it ain't broke ...
