I can make my own with milk strainers (filters) from the local farm store.

Actually, I agree with you. Just get it and get it over with. Odds are, it won’t be much worse than a bad cold or mild flu at its worst for most people. For some, maybe up to fifteen percent though, it’s going to be bad. And if sixty percent of the world’s population gets it, it’s going to overwhelm the system. So if you get it and it does get bad, you want to be in the front end while you can still get decent medical care.
In many countries, predominantly socialist and 3d world countries, the system is already overwhelmed. There are already long waiting lines for care.

How do you know this? Source?

The size of what the masks will filter is much larger than the size of a virus. Aside from that though is the fact that the mask does not produce a positive seal like a gas mask so they will leak around the masks and through the gaps in the seal. Airborne virus rides on moisture droplets and WILL contact your eyes just like pollen and it will infect you as it passes down the nasal lacrimal duct.

Unless an effective vaccine is found and you get vaccinated, the chances that you get covid 29 will approach 100% probably within 5 years. Quarantine is at this point in time no longer a viable option. The virus is as yet undetected in the general population of the United States. But, it is on at least three continents that we are certain of and in over 30 nations. That, by definition, is out of control and in all but declaration by WHO a global pandemic. That declaration will come this week. By the end of the week thu number of countris without infections will be less than the number with and screening/quarantine will be all but done. This when all we can say about it's mortality rate is that it is probably somewhere between 1 and 3 per cent.

This virus is already well on it's way to killing more people than Ebola has in the almost 50 years we have known of it. By the end of 202 Covid 19 will have killed more people globally than Ebola in West Africa did. At least absent a vaccine that will be the scorecard.

I don't agree. once warmer temps start to happen, the cold and flu seasons evaporate. People just don't get them during that time of the year. I think I have only caught a cold in the summer like twice over a 25 year span. I see that happening as we get closer to spring. Also its been said the actual illness isn't very severe, its the potential for pnumonia after the fact that is the problem. This to me says where healthcare sucks in an area or country your risk of dying will go up. out of 600 people that have tested to have the virus off that cruise ship only 2 elderly people died. I will say its alarming that 600 our of 3700 ended up catching the virus though.

Considering the amount of international travel between China and the US and that the local epidemic in Wuhan had been going on for at least a month before we heard about it or there were any travel precautions, it would be a miracle if it isn’t already out in the wild in this country.

I'm always good on surgical masks, since I keep a couple of boxes on hand (along with goggles) at all times for when I clean out the hen house. You don't want to breath in that dust.

The last time I looked at a map, there were 15 cases confirmed in the US...supposedly. Today I looked and the number had jumped to 53! However, a closer reading shows that 12 of those cases were travel-related. Two of them were person-to-person contact here in the US. The remainder of cases were from the cruise ship that was allowed to dock here and are quarantined. So this shows 14 cases from the original parameters. I have no idea where the other case went from my original numbers. Thus far, several people have recovered and there are no deaths.

Lots of speculation on it. No telling how it will be for Americans if it does go widespread. Thus far, it looks pretty contained. If it acts like a cold or the flu, warm weather is coming on and maybe the season for it will be over in most US locales by May. We're about to two months to go. Hopefully the economy won't be crashed by the globalists and their virus, exacerbating things.

It’s been here for months already. Apparently, Atlanta has had some especially bad cases of flu this year. Atlanta with just about the busiest airport in the world would be a place you would expect it to be. I suspect that lots of those flu cases from earlier in the year were something else.

Either way, this is t something that is going to be “contained”. Everyone will get it. For some it will be bad. For most it won’t be. Just like the common cold and or flu...at just a higher rate of serious complications. But not serious enough that everyone should hide out for weeks or months at a time...as if that would do any good anyway.

i put this on a separate thread. People should really really read it and pay attention, rather than jerking about it.
it's a serious issue

the gooberment is not telling us everything
the supply chain interruptions from this virus spreading are immense to the economy.,

If you are over 60, get the pneumonia vaccine and start taking beta-glucan (a proven immune system enhancer). I don't think it hurts to exercise yourself into as good a shape as you can (cardio-vascular). P.S. I'm not a doctor and I've never stayed in a Holiday Inn Express so my advise is prolly worthless.

It’s absolutely serious. At current rates if they hold up, its estimated that about 60 percent of the worlds population will get it and if the 2% fatality rate holds up, that’s a lot of dead people.

Is it the end of the world? No, but it isn’t good.
