With this crowd it's better to remain anonymous. Anyway, when my wife was that age she didn't have tatoos or nose rings, and didn't appear in pictures with high school dropout-looking guys with LGB- looking ear rings or "gages" or
whatever. [/quote]

gauge* (I learned how to spell in college.)

It’s funny how you judge a book by its cover and then want to be anonymous and fold up like a cheap lawn chair when you get called out on it.

Yes.

Peer pressure?

Probably that too. My wife apparently suffers from all of that as well.

You’re doing a young man’s bragging to a bunch of old guys who have already been around the block, some several times.

Pretty woman cool Get back to us when she hits menopause
🙄

I’m not bragging, I was making a point. If you take it as bragging, well, then I made it better than I intended.

My nephew has a “sleeve” or whatever, shoulder to forearm tattooed. Including the 69th New York Irish Brigade of Antietam and Gettysburg fame, and my Dad’s 6th Marines dog tags from when my dad was on Okinawa. So I can’t fault his taste.

He’s back in town this month for for training before he ships out again to Iraq with his Military unit, so I can’t fault his career path either. None of his brothers or cousins have tats even though two are also serving, glad to see it.

I tell my students the only tattoos worth having are those that commemorate your heritage, your family, or those you earned. And if they get it, it had better be at least $1,000-level artwork, and smaller rather than bigger.

Who, or maybe what, is Post Malone? If that's him, or it, in the first post, never mind. I have no need to know.

I was in business for 35 of the 42 years of my career. No one who looked like that, or had "sleeves" or a bunch of facial piercings ever got hired. Mine was a service business and we did a lot of work for older people. Had I sent someone who looked like that to a job they never would have gotten in most doors. So many are sooo concerned about being offended. WellI I find that not offensive but repulsive.

Thank your nephew for his service. $1000 is a little light, for a sleeve I’d raise your number to $3000 min

Luckily it’s not like that anymore. I get more compliments from my clients over 60 to be honest plus it’s a great conversation starter.

As for Post Malone, if he’s not in your wheelhouse, you’ll live.

That sir, depends on where you are. It's still that way where I live and frankly, I'm grateful.

I am amused that there are those who equate what a person does as being ok with his or her income and/or wealth. I don't care if he has more money than little mikey bloomersburg, it is repulsive.

He’s a Big Spender

Post Malone makes big money—and he spends it, too. He confessed to Rolling Stone that before he was famous, he worked in a chicken joint and blew $800 of his hard-earned money on Versace slippers. Since becoming famous, well, his habits haven’t changed much: He showed the magazine his Rolls Royce Wraith and a pair of $1,700 slippers. After his Wraith was T-boned by a Kia, he upgraded to a $420,000 Phantom. He also owns a Lamborghini and a souped up Ford Explorer for which he originally paid $1,700.

In October 2019, Post Malone made it rain with $50,000 worth of singles at a nightclub appearance; in April 2017, TMZ reported that he spent $8,000 just on Popeye’s biscuits, and in October 2018, it was revealed Post Malone dropped a whopping $40,000 on Postmates in just a year, usually getting eats delivered to him while he’s on tour. He also owns a sprawling $3 million mansion outside of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Posty is also a betting man: He paid rapper YG a whopping $20,000 after losing a bet on a Dallas Cowboys game against the St. Louis Rams in the NFL playoffs.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Years ago i read an article my motocross buddy Tony loaned me a magazine with the article .
Guy who wrote it said all the claims of rappers having millions and millions of dollars was mostly BS .

Writers good friend was involved in forensic audits for the irs . They put in some time investigating where the multi-millions of dollars would come from and couldn't begin to get things to add up .
Article posed the questions - who do you know that bought $$ their ''records'' since Napster and many other avenues of highjacking music ?

Where do they have huge concert venues filling big coliseums and selling posters/t-shirts etc. etc. ?

This article was before the days of youtube paying people .

Other questions of where the huge $$ could come from - i don't remember each question but i couldn't think of anybody who bought their ''records'' or anything else .
Plus we all know how the entertainment industry is pure fantasy - packed with lies .

TV appearances don't pay much according to the article .

Read about a Car Guy in atlanta who rounds up high end sports to lease at a day rate for video shoots - he spoke of the mansions and the people who lease them out for video shoots . They brainwash people into beieving that this is where the rapper lives and these are some of his cars etc. and this is how he lives his life .

I don't know nor do i care one way or the other but the article gave anyone with common sense a few things to try and add up .

When i thought of a comparison say: led zeppelin/van halen/aerosmith/journey/heart - who did i know who had bought their records and paid for a ticket at some large concert coliseum and had a t-shirt to prove it ? Lots of people , and those bands toured the world 3-4-5 nights per week for months on end for many years .

Over .

Many years ago When I worked in customer service I met a man named Kevin, he had stud just above his nasal bone right where the eye brows meet the nose, this thing was huge! I mean 1/4" or so.

Anyways I hate to admit it but I judged him by that one thing at first. As I got to know him he turned out to be one of the Nicest guys I've ever known. It was a good lesson for me.

I do try not to be judgemental about such things but sometimes it is really hard not to be, ya just have to try.

I was discussing this with some friends the other evening. The conclusion was (even the tattooed lady agreed) that without tattoos, you can fit in anywhere from a hippy festival to a boardroom. You can look like whatever you want and be whatever you want, but permanently modifying your looks permanently modifies where you can fit in. Being a "justice warrior" is stupid and shows a level of immaturity and selfishness. Why should people have to overcome a negative first impression?

When tattooed lady interviews for an executive level position in a company that is responsible for medical care in the 100s of millions of $$, she damn well makes sure she looks the part and that doesn't include visible tats. And she still looks dynamite at a concert too. smile

Best tattoo I ever saw on a woman was a discrete little rose at the shoulder on her arm, an exact copy of Janice Joplin’s tatoo.

Women with whole patches of tattoos I feel bad for. They get em to look hotter/rebellious/independent/whatever at the peak of their physical beauty.

Life is harder on women, at thirty they already gotta struggle to keep what they once took for granted and at that point they have another fifty years of life left.

Near as I can figure, those extensive tattoos on women merely serve to exaggerate the aging process.

I was talking $1,000 per tattoo, not sleeve. But if you think all them misled teenage dweebs across Amricaare paying anything close to that, you’re sadly mistaken.
