Only reference I know of is Leviticus 19:28 "You must not make cuts in your body for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourself. I am Yahovah."

I sort of get the gauge thing, I think. I wear writing instruments (aka pencils) on my ears quite often. Or I just stick 'em in my 'fro if I be needin' a haircut.
Never know when you might need a gauge. But it begs the question, wtf do these things gauge?

Many people don't think a thing about tattoos. Many other people think they look trashy and probably wouldn't hire someone to represent their business with visible tattoos. Why handicap yourself with visible tattoos?
