Id wager a sugar cookie Planned Parenthood still offs more human life for reproductive rights in 2020 than a non-political, indiscriminate virus in the USA....

The important thing is are COVID contaminated organs allowed for sale or can they be safely used for furnace fuel?

That would be my question for the next DNC primary.

I’ve kind of kept my mouth shut on this but some people are going to look back on these threads with a lot of regret. Some won’t get that chance. I switched careers a couple years ago in large part because it would be safer for me and better for my family, and it was up until February 28th. I’m on day 17 of quarantine and hope to be done soon. My last 48hr shift prior to that won’t ever be forgotten. I just got off the phone with my best friend who’s seen some serious stuff in the last 14 years and he was shaken by what they are dealing with.

I called my wife the first night and told her things were going to get weird in America and they are. At this point all that’s left to find out is if it stays weird or gets catastrophic. If you think the choices that drs are having to make in Italy are different then are already being made here you might want to think again. King County, Washington, despite being a messed up place politically, has what many, myself included would call exceptional medical system. As in leads the world in cardiac arrest survival, CVA protocols, prehospital standards of care etc. Its getting hammered. Less capable systems are in deep trouble if they don’t stay very lucky.

I would doubt you could find a person who knows me in the real world that would say I’m an alarmist or easily spooked. I’ve seen this crap up close when it’s metastasized inside a facility of those most susceptible to it, horrific. All these restrictive measures grate at me on a personal level, but simply put they have a realistic chance of keeping our medical system from collapsing. Flattening the curve is vital to keeping the healthcare system functioning and keeping as many people alive as possible. Take this crap seriously, what’s coming isn’t cold/flu season as far as potential downside if it gets out of control.

Personally I feel there is zero chance that China’s statistics on Covid19 are even remotely accurate. I’ve spent enough time in Asia to know something this virulent that attacks the respiratory system would have far greater impact. 10 years from now I bet there will be a Amazon/Netflix miniseries along the lines of Chernobyl regarding what the communist regime is doing to suppress the truth.

Could,may,possibly,up to - We're better off looking at what is. Newsom comes out and says that California is going from 952 to 26,000,000 cases in 8 weeks? Right.

I took my wife to Bremerton today, to the Doctors office. I was amazed how few people and cars were out and about. We’re now quarantined at home waiting for the test results. Amazing how quickly this has ground us to a halt.

Pray tell where so many of you have been when humans control the offing....

I definitely believe that Corona Virus Hysteria is a real phenomenon.

Prediction...Long drawn out process over the next 2-3 months. Unless something changes for the better, martial law will be put into place in heavily infected areas, if not the entire nation.

Covering her ass lately as Oregon’s on-line unemployment filing system crashed hard this morning. Head of Social Services basically called her an idiot on the news offering as another example of Kate’s superior leadership “How is it Oregon is the only State that is losing money on Sports Betting, where every other State that has it is making a killing?”

As for COVID-19.....Katie is blaming Trump, of course. Lady needs a douche flush outta Oregon politics.

From the reports we've gotten, however misleading, it seems the Chinese had the capability and the will to lock down a major city. And relatively quickly, which as I recall from a month or so ago, was reason for some here to believe the Chinese knew what it was and where it came from.

Can you imagine the hoopla if the the City of Seattle, Kings County, the State of WA, or heaven forbid the Gov of the US of A had come in and shut down Seattle on first cases arising there? For an unknown illness? And further, before discovering what it was, how it seemed to be working, and where it came from, what would the outcry have been like if they had closed the State borders of WA, all flights in and out of the airports there, and then started doing the same whenever a case popped up anywhere in the US?

Numbers are going up here daily. More and more folks are exhibiting symptoms but not even being tested as some here have pointed out. It's now seemingly confirmed in every State in the Union.

Will it hit "millions" in the US? Seems to me that's what "THEY" are trying to avoid. You know, the government entities attempting to avoid all out chaos if this scheidt does get completely rampant in the population.

Yes, folks. Hate to tell you freedom lovers the bad news, but these measures are all about control.

For fuggs sake, just a few cases of the virus in the US a couple of weeks back and there was a run on every roll of TP in the country, every bottle of hand sanitizer, fisticuffs and hair pulling over the last of the bottled water on the shelves. Think what would happen if all of a sudden, 10% , 25% or more of the country came down with this stuff quickly.

Fuggers be in the hospitals, right up in the doctors' faces, with their pistols, sayin' "You save my momma first, I don't care about them other folks".

Shooting each other over the last can of tuna, or bag of Cheetos. And now the panic stricken are buying up guns and ammo. Oh joy, oh fuggin' joy.

If, and a big if, this self quarantine, shelter in place crap does its job, maybe we won't even hit the million mark. Maybe it gets a chance to die out peacefully. If it doesn't work, all bets are off.

ctsmith, have you ever worked with a highly infectious organism in a population of confined animals? (agriculture) Once diagnosed you attempt to separate all infected animals (euthanizing even), keep other groups of uninfected animals "quarantined", limit contact of workers and equipment between groups of animals, and if another group becomes infected those get isolated even further while being treated. Simple animal husbandry. Just what these "lock down" measures are attempting to do.

I hope this virus doesn't hit your area as hard as it has hit others, especially the highly susceptible folks in your family, should there be any.
