Nice pond Beaver. We had a nice pond like that too. Several dry years and then a hard winder took care of that.

Judman,

being as how you're on the west coast..............did you eat eel or lamprey?

Two completely different critters with way different taste.

Way Way different.

Geno

Geno it was at a sushi bar in florida, probably the best sushi we've had, but damn that eel, we didn't care for it.

Really, not FL, but sushi bars is where I developed a real taste for unagi (smoked eel).

I can hardly go and not order some.................even when I want to spend all my money on ahi, hamachi, toro, and others.

If poaching becomes OK, when does robbing corner stores make it to the same OK list?

Obviously you believe the game belongs to the state and not the people. The corner grocery stores sheit belongs to the man that owns the store.

Then eels that tried to eat ol' renegade are a bit different than the "eels" that come up your rivers and creeks Beaver. Maybe you know that, but a lot of folks think and "eel" is just an "eel".

Now, if you're ever fishing the coast and hook into a wolf eel, I hear they are tasty too. Just check first, they may be listed now and off limits..................

Alantic eels are a mofo.
4 yr travel cycle young and mature ones go down rivers hit the gulf stream to europe then to the carribean back up gulf stream to new england and maritime canada rivers to spawn
Repeat

Coksukka,s.....

Just a bit turned around there. Atlantic eels swim upriver as elvers (little eels), grow, and go downriver to the ocean to spawn in the Sargasso Sea. Couple of different populations, one American, the other Euro eels.

Complete opposite of salmon.

Japanese eels the same way. Grow to adulthood in fresh water.

But you have one thing right for sure............big ones will bite folks in ponds, lakes, and rivers they live in.

Geno, is looking for his fishing regs so he can make food, but admitting he’d poach my pond if he was closer.

Renny, well, it’s Ren and he’s slaying eels with a tomahawk or spear, idk.

Now Jud, Kingston and Styx want to buy the hottest lures available.

Times are dark folks...LAFFIN 😎

Used ta be a hatchet.
Cool one too
Leather sheath for it on my belt
Kept that fugga razor sharp
Shave hair off my arm with it.
Slice and dice a fugging eel up real good.

Yes. I have lots of different colors. Usually buy them in the 9 packs. Get yourself some of the 1/64 oz in mealworm gold if nothing else. Lots of ways to fish them with or without a bobber. Put some action into them for best results. Several videos on youtube showing how. They are KILLER once you get the hang of them.
