That is a long and lonely stretch of road - just drove it both ways a short while ago and remember thinking about the good guys that have to patrol there. Just south of Ely talked with two HP who were leapfrogging to usher a wide load - very nice men. If the description of the perp as a recent "house buyer" is accurate, the crine does not make much sense. My heart goes out to the community and family of the HP trooper.
