You still pay taxes, correct? Paying taxes is irrelevant, the purpose is to help people effected by the shutdown of the economy. Retirees as well as those on welfare and not working, their incomes are not effected.

And ain’t a damn one of you gonna “donate” jack squat.
You’ll buy a new shîtter caddy for your $100k RV before giving that money to a humanitarian cause.

The government is borrowing money to send these checks. If I want to borrow money, I'll borrow it myself. GD

I can understand helping business's that had to shut down and employees who are, or might be laid off. But giving retirees money is just nuts. My wife and I are both retired so why is Uncle Sam giving us $1,200 each? We haven't worked in years. They could of cut 100's of billions from the package if they would of eliminated giving money to people who are no longer part of the work force. Or am I missing something? I can make it super easy for you. When you get it, let me know, and I'll drive to Monterey and take it off your hands............

And usually republican (socialist). This is all about socialists buying votes, and that's why Trump is so intense about getting it passed so he could sign it. He needs those votes. He can't risk hearing about any wavering loyalties among the troops this summer, lest that gets out of hand and too many stay home in November (if there is even an election in November). Hahahaha.. holy cow this poster is delusional. Republican are socialists?

The idea isn't entirely to give people more money to spend. It's also to keep businesses afloat by being able to sell stuff. That keep people working. The down side is that with so many businesses closed, a very large chunk of the stimulus money will go to Amazon, Ebay, and other online companies.
A good part of my money when it comes will go to some mechanics as I need work done on my pickup and my UTV.

There are a lot more retirees living on SS alone that barely make ends meet. Go to a McDonalds, such and watch all the seniors get cheaper food which is probably the only meal they will have that day. If it bothers you so much, donate the money to a needy charity or some family that needs it Very flawed analogy Eating out anything if you’re barely scraping by is pure ignorance and most likely the root cause of why someone like that doesn’t have a pot to piss in when they’re old and feeble. When I began to read your post I thought it might be about hard working older seniors who have returned to work at a McDonald’s, not eating there. A thrifty person can eat a bowl of oatmeal and fry a egg everyday for a week compared to eating breakfast or lunch just once at Mickey Dees. Eggs are a buck a dozen, and a small barrel of oatmeal is $3 Don't you know, all Mickey D employee's eat for free. My post was about the “poor little old lady” that VISITS the McDonald’s to spend her lint and nickels. As for employees, I’ve seen employees go on break and they have to ring up anything they want. When I was 16, it was 50% employee discount for the Wendys I slaved at.

If you donate your money to the committee to reelect Trump, please have the committee send the thank you card and receipt to piglosi. It'll help make her day.

Wife and I won't get anything. The couple we hire to do our yard and clean house will get it, and they need it. As with all government programs, some deserve the check and some don't. I'm glad I don't have to decide who gets what out of 330 million people. Ymmv.

I haven't a clue if I have any coming If I do I'll take it! If I don't, government is gonna come up with some deal to give it to illegals of some country that hate's our gut's. I see America on a long downhill side and we've been on it for years. Know why? To damn many people that haven't voted. Even $1200 won't give me a yearly income where I have to pay tax's. Been retired 14 yrs and get enough to get by but then I'm a cheap bastard! I'm not complaining about my SS, wish it was more but would not surprise me to see politicians cut my SS to give themselves a raise! American government exist's spouting fear to citizens!

This BS SNAP/Food Stamp program should be dumped. Give those in need... powdered eggs, butter, beans, rice, salt pork, ect. If truly in need, they’ll appreciate it and not use the program for booze and dope. Maybe some will even learn to cook. Hell, it might even motivate a few to get off their a$$e$ and get a job! memtb

Yea at the Publix, my daughter wanted a couple chicken legs. They were a 1.79 each. Crazy expensive. My opinion for a few nibbles of meat.

We've been shut down for 3 weeks and hear there's no chance of opening before May. I'm against the 2+ trillion dollar relief package, the money will be doled out on who you know after the crooks get their cut. You know and I know it's a ripoff to the working class American past or present. Trump has proven he'll suck a willie for a dollar...or a vote.
Life is good live it while you can.
