I've always loved Mannlicher stocks. Only one I currently own is a Winchester Model 70 .30-06. The stock came with it from the factory, but I don't think it is a Winchester product. Fajen, maybe? Little short gun "kicks" more than my .300 mag Model 70, but it is very accurate. A real pleasure to carry and shoot, and I like the looks a lot! May try to puzzle out the photo current protocol and pot a pic.

Here is the holy grail. An original Mannlicher Schoenauer Model 1903 with factory set trigger and 3 folding leaves on the rear sight chambered in 6.5x54MS. Bow down Mortals!

Im really jealous. I've really wanted one for a long time in 358. I have never seen another .358 win M-S for sale before or after I got mine. There was a time when I was constantly looking at M-S's. I am getting to old to care about stuff anymore.

Husqvarna is near perfection IMHO with their 456: [/quote] I couldn't agree with you more! I do like the Montecarlo stock for scope use on the 458 though. There's nothing I would change about this one!

Harry- it's understandable why you prefer the 458 for use with scope. Looks like you swept bolt handle forward a bit...did you make any other changes like trigger? Really like your full-stock rifles.

Leadminer, I think the bolt handle has a shadow on it that makes it look that way. It hasn't been changed. You can't see it in the picture of my rifle, but it has a stock that is loaded with fiddle back figure. I was thinking about having the barrel replaced when I bought the rifle. I wanted to change the caliber to 7mm08, but I made the mistake of shooting it first and wouldn't think of changing it from its 243 Winchester configuration now. It has become one of my favorite rifles.
