Fish hooks, split shots, flies...it is fishing season.
Attach a magnet to the bottom and use it when you're working on something and need to hold the screws, nuts, and bolts.

Put an x-acto blade, some string, and some cut off matches, and post it on a survivalist site as a compact survival kit.

I bought a thousand count case of CCI No. 10 percussion caps. The tiny tins seemed inconvenient, so I emptied them all into a single, clean, Altoids tin, which was just right for all 1,000. Ahhhh, "curiously strong" percussion caps.

Interesting thread , here..... I've got a couple of those style tins around here and they do seem too nice to just toss.

Bore snakes for each caliber. Dad used Sucret cans to cut up pitch kindling and combine it with matches and paper towels as a fire starter kit. You could melt wax into sawdust and use them as fire starters for your pack.

I knew a real mental midget who kept several thousand large rifle primers loose in a pint Mason jar. Stuff that explodes - - - -stored in a glass container! There's a reason they pack those things in padding so they can't even touch each other. I don't know if percussion caps are more or less sensitive than primers, but it doesn't seem to be a good idea to have that many crammed together. Jerry

I ride offroad motorcycles. If you see a skoal can on the trail, you can count on it to be full of weed.

To be honest I'd just toss them. Anything you might use them for...there are already much better containers out there for almost no money.
I used to try and figure out what I could use my empty Skoal tins for. Answer, absolutely nothing.

Jerry They come 100 to a tin, packed loose, so I doubt it's a huge concern.
