See.
Twern't hard, was it ??

No, it was pretty easy.

I did have to let it bake more than the recipe called for. At the 35-40 minute mark, it was still real watery.

My specialty is peach cobbler... grin

I know a few guys here at the Fire that can vouch for it. laugh

Splattermatic: I have never tasted "custard pie" - those sure look delicious.
The VarmintWife makes a "rhubarb custard pie" from our own rhubarb patch that simply knocks peoples socks off though!
Its about 95% rhubarb and 5% custard though.
Enjoy'em - wish I was there!

I actually like to cook, so I looked over the recipe, and got to work.
I didn't do a crust from scratch, but bought a 2 pack of pre made.
Instead of having a crust hanging around waiting for a later date, I made 2 !
They turned out awesome....
My wife owes me big time !! Big grin !!

We slap raspberries in custard pies in early July when they ripen around here. A big tradition in my house. We love to pick wild raspberries.

That recipe fills a deep dish pie shell all the way to the top.

Use the deep dish.

It takes much balance and concentration to put the pies in the oven without spilling it everywhere! laugh

So far, I'm batting a 1000 with the balance act though.

sounds good, dollop of whipped cream and few beries on top, too...maybe whip up a little raspberry sauce and drizzle on top

I've never had custard pie, but we grew up on egg custard that mom used to (still does) cook in the oven in a water bath. Amazing with a drizzle of maple syrup atop it.
