Anyone know where I can find a decent Carbide Burr Set for a decent price? All the ones I have found are rather expensive. The set I had was stolen.

... Still need that new Tool forum.

Thanks.

I'm sure they're just made in China...but maybe Taiwan...no brand name, sold by McMaster-Carr , internet order,,,,1/4 " cylindrical double cut for air tools. Toughest I've found. I frequently weld up bucket pin bosses on heavy equipment and fill an ovaled hole with 7018 or 8018 and then hand grind them round. Tough on burrs. Last time I bought ten for 140 bucks, that's pretty good price I thought.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Check on the big distributors. I have a set from MAC truck. Use em a lot at work and they warranty them when we burn them up. don’t take long for it to be cheaper than buying cheap ones. Check but I think I gave $140 for a set of 4 burrs. Not sure if matco and snap-on have same warranty

Several 8-piece sets on Ebay- - - -1/4" shanks, priced from $20.00 to $30.00 a set. 1/8" shank Dremel style are a lot less expensive than that.

Thanks Fellers. I need the 1/4" shank. I'll take a look at the ones you've mentioned.

It'll take some looking to find a decent single fluted set for under a hundred bucks. Most of the sets in this price range are double cut. I can't find a McMaster-Carr set, only individual burrs. The rest are too expensive.
