I am kinda fickle when it comes to rifles but I think this one may be the perfect rifle, at least for me, to hunt North America and plains game in Africa. My perfect rifle is a Steyr-Mannlicher Model M Professional in .30-06 with iron sights This is ONE and probably most favorite all around rifle, especially for N A. Tikka T3 X 7mm RM The top empty case did this earlier in the season. It doesn't discriminate as to gender. LOL Jerry

Blue and walnut ruger m77 mk2 in 30-06 with leupy 3-9x40. I've been using this particular rifle since 1996. Slowly being replaced by a ruger Hawkeye in 308win.

My latest is a Weatherby MK V in 30-06 that I bedded into a Brown Precision stock I picked up off Ebay. I put a Burris FF II 3-9 on it. It’s only killed paper so far

.300 H&H Rem 700 25.5" Douglas 1/10 Factory, but tuned trigger McMillan Edge Air Gauged I've never taken it overseas, but it's been to Alaska and several western states, killing anything that needs killing. It'll be with me in the Yukon in August (hopefully) for griz.

Remington 700 CDL, 24" 30-06 with a 6x Leupold. It's taken pronghorn, mule deer, black bear, elk, wolf and grizzly. I'm well pleased with it. Regards, Guy

My go-to rifle of late...Ruger 77 .30-06 with a few custom touches...24" barrel, red pad, oil finish, etc. All I need for what I'll be hunting in the future. Bob

Weatherby Vanguard2, .30-06 stainless, synthetic, Leupold VX-R 4X12 Firedot , rifle was guaranteed and is sub MOA. Don't have to be concerned about it getting a little wet. Will dispatch anything in Louisiana. We do have some really tough Russian boar.

Rem 700 Mountain Rifle in .280 Rem. I have several others, but this one always comes hunting. Wears a Zeiss 3X9 and has a timney trigger at 2.5 lbs. Shoots way better than I can, and, other than pigs (for some reason), it kills whatever I aim at. I've been lucky in that it likes factory ammunition, too. Recoil is very manageable, and velocity out of the 22" barrel is better than I was told. Just a perfect little rifle for almost everything I hunt.

I don't think there really is such a thing as an "all-around" gun, but I have a Krieghoff drilling which has proved to be pretty versatile, in that I have killed everything from birds to rabbits to deer and pigs with it. The 7x57 barrel is accurate enough to headshoot rabbits across the paddock out of shotgun range, and more than accurate enough to reach out to a deer or pig out to 300 yards or more, and I have a selection of various birdshot, buckshot and slug loads for the two 16 ga barrels.
It has 22" barrels and a Dural frame, so it is very light (6 lbs bare) and handy too.
I have a 1.5-6x42 scope with claw mounts, so it can go on or come off in an instant (I also have a 6x fitted for this rifle, in reserve, but the 1.5-6 is a much better option).
