Here are the facts that most affect me:
Utah has about 3.2 million people.
About 3000 of them are confirmed to have COVID.
About 300 of those have been hospitalized.
About 30 have died from it.
So, the fatality rate about 1% of about 1% of about 0.01% of the state population. If my math is right, that's a fatality rate of 0.000001 (that might be a zero off either, way, I'm not math gifted)
I'm not a whole lot panicked. Rocky, it only bothers a person when they've lost someone, I've lost 2 friends (one in New Orleans and one in New York). I've also heard from a decorated veteran of Viet Nam (2 Purple Hearts - one for napalm burns) saying tha the Corona virus infection was by far the worst pain had ever experienced - and this from a man who spent 4 months in a hospital burn unit soaking off decaying skin!

I know a few Nurses. I haven't heard any of them talking about being a hero. Mostly, they're just constantly stressed about being in a situation that could cause problems for themselves and their families. None that I know give a damn about being considered a hero. Same in my fam.
