Yes Deflave I am unemployed. It’s called retirement. So I need to know if all the naysayers on here believe that Trump dumped the economy for no reason. Answer the question boys. Ed k

Hey Deflave! I’m looking to the future not the past. Have a beautiful day. It’s still winter here. Lol ed k
You're looking at YOUR future.
With total disregard for everybody else's.
Serious question. Can't people in "high risk" categories turn this around and say the same to people who think it should be business as usual?
As in, "who give a f*ck about you old people?" Or "diabetes, that's your fault?"
Another serious question. If Trump is just going along with the hysteria to get re-elected, what about the economy? That's his biggest selling point, don't you think tanking the stock market has hurt him some?

If a person is involved in a situation that they feel makes them or a close friend/relative in danger from Covid-Y2K, they can react in two ways:
1) The Conservative way, respecting the Constitution and taking steps to protect themselves/others, using their own resources and abilities, and letting others live in freedom; or
2) The liberal way, demanding everyone else surrender their freedom and change their lives so they can feel better about their situation, while shredding the Constitution in the process.
I would argue that your #1, a complete "hands off" approach, leaving everyone to their own devices and trusting everyone to simply do the right thing in what was believed to be a critical health crisis isn't conservatism. It's further right on the scale. It's past libertarian. Strict constitutionalist? Anarchist? We are a compassionate country and a lawful country, and the problem with a 100% hands-off no response approach is that people won't play the the rules. Hence, we have LAWS, and a frame work for how our society is supposed to act and behave.
And I'd argue your #2 example, "demanding everyone surrender their freedom", would be further LEFT on the scale that you suggest. A fascist regime? Communism? It's not happened where I live. I can still eat, breath, practice free speech, worship, shoot, go for a drive, work, play outdoors. Some of these things are temporarily on hold, or more inconvenient, but it was thought to be extraordinary times.
So I'd suggest a #3 option, which you didn't list: --Shutting down obviously dangerous venues where tens or hundreds of thousands of people gather --People that can work from home, hell, why not work from home --Ask people to social distance --etc
No, I DON'T agree with people not being able to travel, drive, golf, to to their cottage, hunt, fish, and all of that. It's off the rails.
But some temporary common sense steps to help our country seems reasonable. And who knows, this thing may be fizzling out and ending up better than we'd hoped because of the steps we DID take.
Agree to disagree (and I know you will) but just because folks don't see in black and white and think that there can be some reasonable response to help our country get past this, doesn't make them a liberal or deep state jockey.

Constitution was written in black and (somewhat) white.
Your number 3 option is just taking your fellow citizens' freedom, but "just a little", or "incrementally", so liberals think that's OK.
It's not.
Anyone who agrees to "a few" violations of the Constitution, or just the ones that "make sense" at the moment, don't deserve to be protected by any part of the Constitution.
And don't whine that you've been labelled a liberal. Nobody's callin names. Just observin that you constantly post liberal thoughts.
True or false: following 9/11, you feel, and still feel that being screened at the airport is an overt and absolute violation of your rights and liberties?
Because your stance is, it is a violation. And anyone should be able to carry anything on, without being bothered. And I guess if another plane goes down, we will arrest what's left of the grease stain at that point.
The world isn't as simple and nice as you pretend it to be.
