Rabid Creedmoorians ring my doorbell ... as I open it a crack they speak : "Do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Savior , 6.5Creed?"

No real "best" all around..........some do some things better than others.
If I had to choose one with considering concealment in a variety of clothes, it would probably be a Commander sized 1911.
If was for pure fighting in a non-concealed type setting & holster, I might want a wonder gun with more magazine capacity than a 1911.
Lots of good guns available.

'All Around' to me means any weather/anywhere/anytime, only one pistol for that I'm familiar with, my Gen4 M21 45 ACP, unspeakable reliability, damn good night sights, hi-cap, plenty accurate enough for 4 inch 25 yard shooting braced off a crossed leg, rain, sleet, snow, mud?, bring it.
230 gold dots at 966 230 FMJ-FP's at 1000 200gr Lehigh Penetrators at 1050 185gr Barnes' at 1150
A man could cover a lot of ground with those loads, a couple spare mags riding in a rear pocket makes it all the better.

Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

Out of the box, SIG makes the best pistols. So I would favor a P220.

I began with the Colt government. IWB hard to beat a 220. The 41 makes a great gun for the truck where space isn't an issue. Waiting on delivery on a HK45c. V1. The S&W MP45c is calling me as well. I've owned and carried 30 and 36. No love lost. just brick's. I'd like to see what the Turks could pull off in a 45 Canik. That's an interesting proposition under 400

I like the fit of a 1911, but If you have a big hand, the FNP 45 is OK.
Get close and wack em hard!

My choice is a Commander, or a Glock 21 (when wearing larger garments).

I've been very happy with my Ruger P90.
A GI 1911 just does not fit my hand all that well. The P90, with the wider grip feels better. A stock 1911 bruised my web. My EDC's are all DA. I carry my P90 with the hammer down.
