I'm currently enjoying Giri/Haji (Duty/Shame), a series on Netflix. It's the story of a Japanese policeman whose missing brother was a yakuza gangster. He gets information that his brother may be alive and hiding in London and he goes there to find out. Most of the dialog is in English, there are some scenes in Japanese with subtitles. Very well acted, extremely well written with well developed characters with both virtues and flaws. This is not a stamped out police flick; a lot of thought went into writing it. Very entertaining. I finished Giri/Haji and it turned out to be even better than I thought. There's a scene on a rooftop in the last episode that demonstrates the main character's deep and deeply conflicted feelings towards the other characters in a way that was both beautiful and a complete surprise. I didn't see it coming at all, but I was sure glad I saw it. Highly recommended.

Thanks Jim for recommending Babylon Berlin. Just finished season 1. Interesting characters, acting, plots, and places it is filmed. I'm watching the the dubbed version.
Makes me want to smoke and I've never smoked....

one movie came on that caught my attention, 12 Strong....
Special Forces Team in Iraq.. supposedly true story...
That was almost a Military style " John Wick", so lots of killing..
all in all, a good movie tho...
Takes place in Afghanistan, not Iraq. Nothing like John Wick. Mediocre at best as far as movies go. Must not have caught much of his attention. Good or Bad, added to the watchlist Son of a bitch I have already seen this and just paid to watch it again. At least I don't remember it much.... Uhhh, you are hiding in the rocks and they are shooting at you.... Are you supposed to stand up fully exposing your balls up before you return fire, or stay a bit lower? Thanks.

I thought ‘Transpecos’ was a decent movie. I think it’s on Prime.

OK, I actually did scroll through this whole thread and nobody mentioned " Strike Back" 2 seasons IIRC
High, high body count, gratuitous nudity, lots of violence and outstanding lady officers in charge. Amazon Prime...but its available elsewhere too. Teats and bullets? Thats my next watch. Gracias Plus one. That's enough to put it on my watchlist. Sounds like a show for after the kid goes to bed. 7 Seasons on Amazon, No Prime. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Another great move, Jackie Brown. Directed by Quentin Tarantino Cast Pam Grier Michael Keaton Robert Forster Bridget Fonda Samuel L. Jackson - liberal douchebag Robert De Niro - liberal douchebag Beave,
Jack Ryan is a good series too, If you haven't caught that one yet. Also on Amazon Prime. 3 seasons out there, I believe. 3rd episode us out? IB, Jack Ryan is only 2 seasons. Sorry for the confusion. I was expounding through my expeller. We've really enjoyed it. Krasinski is a very good actor. So, been looking for a new episode and you piqued my interest. IB, If you like Jack Ryan, try Homeland. I just finished Homeland and overall I'd say I liked it but some of the craziness of the main character got to be too much. I about quit part way into it when I realized I was out of my seat cheering when her own people shot her.Bb Bb, I thought I remembered reading this somewhere. Funny. And you're right.. I watched season 8, then started the series from the beginning. Like you, I almost cheered when she got shot by her own people. Who in the real world CIA could disobey that many direct orders and get away with it? Lol.

Not sure if it has made it to Netflix or Amazon yet, but avoid Capone, starring Tom Hardy, like the plague.
Movie depicts the last year of Al Capone's life, after the Feds released him from jail and he was dying of syphilis. In the first twenty minutes, you get Hardy with an absolutely incomprehensible fake voice, schitting and pissing himself.
Seriously. This thing is complete gibberish and unwatchable. Twenty minutes was all I could stand.

Amazon Prime.
“Bone Tomahawk”.
2015 movie with Kurt Russel. It’s a western with a horror movie type of villain.
Some pretty sick killing.
