Wasn't Floyd handcuffed with hands behind his back? (see video) How much of a thereat could he pose. This might go down as 2nd degree murder.

Something else for all the SJW's to chew on:

The cops were acting under the city's authority.

The city has deemed the four officers guilty (of something).

The city now controls the footage from those body cameras.

The rush to judgement in this thread and other previous ones is telling.

Since when is it acceptable police procedure to restrain a suspect by pinning him to the ground with a knee on his neck. Your supposed to use your jackboot to keep the underclass in their place. Does make a nice hero picture I suppose.

Can't decide if it's more racist or fascist. Definitely both. What the hell is wrong with department leadership that people would even think about doing such a thing. Maybe they need the Minnesota version of the Knapp Commission.

I watched a fight outside the Pearl Street bar in Boulder CO. back in my college days. Trouble maker was totally shietfaced and causing a disturbance that was cut off multiple times by a couple of patrons. The trouble maker would go into the bar start fighting and the patrons would kick the crap out of him and physically throw the dirt bag out onto the mall. This went on several times before I left. I came back 15 min. later and LEO's had the guy cuffed sitting on the curb. The guy was yelling, cussing and carrying on with blood streaming down his face and head. He was completely unfazed from the continuous pummeling he had been going through. The cops put him in the back of the squad car and the dumbass started kicking the inside of the car with enough force to break windows. Out he comes and the lady cop with her partner drag him back onto the curb and she flips the guy over and hog ties him whilst looking at me and says "just like the rodeo". The guy is still fighting, spitting, yelling, and trying to kick only now with the movement of squirming worm. They get him back into the car and the guy still won't give up.

Force on force is a nasty business and there are serious risks on both sides with no guarantees as to out come on either side. You can't expect people to know exactly how to respond to each incident, determine the mental/physical health while dealing with the individual or how they will react to stress and to what level of force to use. Then you have "policy" to follow, whether its practical or not for the situations encountered. The list goes on and on. I'm actually surprised there aren't more deaths, on both sides, considering the crap shot life throws at us. Does this mean LEO just gets a pass? Obviously not but it ain't cut and dried and people need to pull their heads out and get a good grasp of reality, on all sides before passing judgement.

This is not true. While much of the rules of engagement fall under the 4th, there are some aspects of excessive/deadly force and detainee health and safety that fall squarely into the 8th.

There is plenty of case law relating to deliberate indifference. Though it is usually thought of in terms of the incarcerated, it 100% applies to detainees in the field. Plenty of case law to suggest that when the derainee went limp under the cops knee (reason doesn't matter), it required some reaction.

There was none.

More than that, who wants a police force that humiliates and physically abuses everyone they meet to the full extent of the law.

I disagree sir. Plenty of people in jail are first time offenders.

These guys shouldn't get a pass because they are cops. Qualified immunity doesn't protect someone who knowingly violates someone's rights. Problem is whether someone is willing to risk the arrest and treatment by bully cops and an unknown court and legal process. These bully cops don't discriminate about who they target. Anyone deemed weaker is fair game.

I think too many cops are just trying to get along by staying silent and turning a blind eye because they don't want a target on their backs too.

Start making cops pay insurance costs to cover lawsuits and this will help stop some of this nonsense.

If the body cams exonerate the cops, the city, run by left wing crazy social justice progressives, will refuse to release the footage as long as they can. Chicago does this all of the time.

You failed to mention the patterns of exonerations after the incidents.

Shall we go there ?

Who wants to inculcate obeying lawful commands to the public at large ?

Failure to do so (obey) can guarantee specific results.

Yup, they can talk only when moving air. Stop them from moving air and they are not breathing. He was breathing the whole time.
