Anyone remember something in this country that was once so common and now is nearly extinct ? It was something called "work ethic". Most millenials and gen X types don't have a clue as to what it is. My parents and grandparents sure had it. I've always had it........ But somewhere along the way the younger ones never picked up on it. Welcome to the Great Society, folks.

I usually bring home about $1200 a week, after deductions, 401K, health supplement.
I'm number 3 driver in a crew of about 18 drivers. For the last four weeks I have been working about two days a week grossing about $550, taking home around $375, the guys under me have not been working at all, they take home $1050 a week. SOB!

Hundreds where I work refuse to return to work. With the $600 extra per week they are probably bringing home a little more than when working. I wonder if they realize that unemployment benefits do not have taxes withheld and a big surprise is coming to them next April? Well, that is if politicians don't pass legislation to eliminate income taxes for them (roll eyes) The thing is, we are slowing down due to parts supply issues. If this turns into a long term problem, guess who won't be coming back? Their $600 extra will end and they'll be SOL.

If you refuse work you can get flagged and will pay all benefits back. Happens often enough, at least around here, you need to cover your azz if you do file.
I was supposed to start back last Monday, then this Monday, now it’s pushed to the 8th. Meanwhile they keep sending me a lot of money.
It’s weird.

The majority of the folks I've personally talked to and heard about around here where I live are either still waiting for their first unemployment check or just recently started getting them. Talked to an old friend last week who said it took well over ten hours of her on the phone before finally getting her husband's started. Local small business owner said he got one unemployment check early on and that was all. He said screw'em and forgot about it.
