jdunham, Thanks. It did. You compelled me to break out the calipers anyway. On the first original ks (ss 280 barrel code bz) I grabbed to measure the initial taper starting at the lug measures 1.2” and has essentially a straight line taper to 4.65” distal to the lug where it measured 0.685”. From there it transitions into another straight line taper to the muzzle where it measured 0.592”. On this particular example the barrel is 23.15” from lug to muzzle. Where it exits the forend at 10.5” distal to the lug the diameter is 0.660”. These pretty much duplicate the measurements gunnut308 linked earlier in the thread that benchmark has. You are absolutely correct that the Lilja profile is very very close - the biggest difference, as you said, appears to be the additional 1.25” of taper on the shank end - but the differences are minute. On the Lilja drawing where is measures 0.850” my measured was 0.86”; and where Lilja measures 0.680” my measured was 0.670”. I’ll be able to post a comparison of the 3 ... right about the start of sheep season!

I was literally running out of my house when I snapped those pictures quick and posted them. Wanted to break out the calipers but didn’t have time. I for some reason couldn’t remember the term lug to save my life while I was typing. Hope that clears up some things for anyone wanting to use the Lilja KS Contour. It isn’t the original specs from Remington but it is super close.

I just got off the phone with Mark at Bartlein and they will build the KS contour in stainless steel for me. They are going to go off the Lilja print that Orion provided me with. Should be here in 4 months.

that sounds great....but still seems odd since the lightest contour they will do on their page in stainless is a 2b

I measured a factory inlet KS stock and it looks like there is 0.69” of clearance at 6” from the lug so the Lilja contour should squeeze in without having to open it any.

The Benchmark (Gunnut308's profile in this thread) came in and it is a perfect drop in for a factory inlet KS. Blank weighs 3 pounds, 1.8 ounces ...

I put this in another thread, but I figured I would update this thread as well for future reference. I came across this while looking for something else on the lilja site and cross-reference it with one of mine. Here is the *exact* KS MR MAG contour. https://riflebarrels.com/wp-content/uploads/rcs300.pdf

McMillan stock with their KS inlet. Benchmark did a perfect job with the measurements I sent them.

Last year I started working up a load with Nosler 150 BT's over H4831SC and haven't had a reason to try anything else. That KS is really happy living with me:-)
