I would like too Bristoe.
The wolf is cost effective.
Someday I might outfit the gun with a multi mount receiver base that replaces the trigger and hammer pin with no need for a shepards hook, made by some outfit in texas. IIRC.
Get a skeleton rail
Get a primary arms 2 x scope.

Robski on his you tube channel uses the set up.
RTZ is flawless and he has thrown that rig on rifles loaded one in the tube and 29 in the mag into his swamp for 3 days which is one of the parts of his 5k rd testing.
Primary arms 2x scope undamaged for rest of 5 k test.

Scope this gun eventually, pretty sure group size would shrink by at least 1/3rd...
When the eyesight starts to turn to crap......

I wasn't trying to be critical of your groups,...just mentioning that I found that my old SKS tightened up considerably with .311 diameter, 150 grain bullets and H322.

I suspect that the reason is the longer bearing surface of the 150 grain bullets and starting them out gently with slower burning powder than is usually found in 7.62X39 ammo.

Also, I've found that a lot of metric .30 caliber military bullets are fairly undersized and the groove diameter on metric .30 caliber military rifles are oversize.

Get that stuff dialed in by handloading and things tighten up considerably.

It might not be something you want to get too involved in. But it might be worth working out in order to put some ammo away for "special" occasions.

I didnt take it that way one bit.
LOL!!!

Just alot to get set up reloading
Specially getting brass case for 7.62x39.
Thats the biggie really.

Ha Ha,

the wife wanted the cardboard boxes we use in the winter for newspaper and kindling out of the house. Mentioned it last week. Not high on my priority list, looked at them the other day, pulled them out from the wall, looked behind, said to myself I'll have to vacuum if I pull those out now. Didn't happen that day.

Today she started getting them out, so I took them the rest of the way....................and she vacuumed!

Delaying tactics sometimes work.

This is where I've chosen to put the lion's share of my 7.62x39 ammo money.

IMHO:

Where the sun, moon and stars converge for me. Price, Accuracy/Dependability, Velocity.

If you're pushing 2375, you're basically at top velocity performance for inexpensive factory ammo, anyway. To trade up from there will cost you 2-3 times what you can stockpile the Wolf for.

I've put back a stack of it.

Its good stuff.

Wanna try the brown bear 123gr hp poly coated case.
Barnual ammo.
Bet it is the same exact line run as the wolf.

The wolf standard deviation is under 13 fps
The brown bear is like under 12

Some 7.62x39 SD is in the 30,s and 40,s
^^^^^^^^^^^
Tula anything 6 to 8 moa crap, except for "their" 8m3 vympel factory contracted out rd.

I've had good luck with Silver Bear 125sp.

Different platform. AR15... and a scope, but it's pretty decent for hogs.

100 yards... Fast fire. Not as fast as I can pull the trigger, but pretty fast. grin

The "X" ring is one inch across.

Stopped by LGS today on a whim, with some spare time.

All these soccer mom vans in the parking lot. ??
I thought at least 3/4 were there for the restaurant.

Nope. About 15-20 people taking Saturday afternoon CCW class. Here's the kicker. Approx. 8 of them were women.

your Lear jet is about the only way I'd fly nowadays. I have a buttload of miles on my card, but I give them away to relatives and friends who need to get somewhere. I can't stand the corrals and loading chutes they make honest citizens go through nowadays. Gotta be fair I guess, but a guy like me that's had multiple BG checks done for work and permits etc, is likely not much of a threat. Had the keys to bajilliom dollar facilities and could have caused a bajillion dollars more havoc, but I can't get a pass to go through the check station to fly to San Diego?

I'd sure love to take you up on the offer. Maybe if my Bro retires (later this year maybe??) and moves to NC to be with his grandkids I'll help him move or drive back for a visit and stop in TN someday.

I'll bring cash for Rusky bullets! laugh

I'm not even sure on the bore diameter. Probably the barrels cut to .308 that are too loosey-goosey, get chambered to 7.62x39.

I've had my 16-incher out to 550 with Tula, and 155gr handloads. They are fun to play with out there.

Really surprised at that tula group.
Your AR platform likes that ammo.
Your bore probably is .311 land to land.
Squeezing that .311 bimetal tula down the bore in a .308 bore probably wouldnt roll very good.

That handload is tight.

Someday I will eventually have ta scope out my AK.

The Tula doesn't do as good in my 16", more like 3-4" at 100. The 20" has the advantage of a floated barrel, and the longer fore-end tube puts the bipod further forward for better stability too.

I thought it was odd that with both ammo types, I had one flyer well out of the group. Probably me. I need to do some more handload testing with it.

Some Tula groups with the 16", at 100 yards. The 'H' group was Hornady 123gr SST.

100m back in late jan or early feb
Before I did sight mods
Was shooting 5 at a time .
Defining center was and issue
Put 15 on top target in groups of 5
5 on bottom.

The orange square with black center helped yesterday.
The sight mods alot more so with a clear precise sight picture.
