For me that has more than adequate for use within 150 yards. drover 223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers. 24hourcampfire.com - The site where there is a problem for every solution.

About the only time that I shoot a 17HMR is on pdog hunts while the centerfire rifles are cooling down and the varmints are within 150+/- yards.

My most accurate rimfires at 50 yards are wearing 100 yard parallax scopes. I think parallax is overemphasized in most circumstances. If you are going to be shooting regularly at longer distances, then it really won't matter anyway.
