But in VT you have to deal with the people from the NYC Metro area who have second homes there and who often go out of their way to communicate how much smarter, more attractive, and successful they are.

And call the cops every time they hear a gun going off in the woods.

Not really. VT's a weird place, full of hippies and commies, but most of them do like their guns.
I used to go to VT a lot many years ago and you could see it changing even then but it's worse now.

Yep. Anyone can carry concealed there. It's been that way forever, long predating Shall Issue or Constitutional Carry.

I carried when I was there for a boar hunt. Cops don't care, since there are no laws regulating it.

I first learned this in the early 1980s when I was talking with the guy I was working out with (who had just moved to Long Island, NY, from his home state of Vermont) at the Jiu-Jitsu dojo. We were talking about guns, and he didn't realize that in other states you couldn't carry handguns any way you chose, concealed, open, whatever. He was like age 21. He's the one who told me there were no laws against it in Vermont, and never had been.

Vermont is within a half-day's drive of every major urban center between Boston and Newark, including NYC, its amazing its held any character at all.

We like Vermont. Pretty little State. Been through it several times and come to think of it, don't recall ever seeing a black person.

How come they have Bernie Sanders for a Senator?

Hard to believe that Bernie Sanders comes from a constitutional carry state, although I'm sure that would change real quick if Bernie had his way.

Might not be so bad, for me at least. I have to deal with those folks, and others, do to the insanse influx of northerners into this part of SC. At least it wouldn't be so dang hot in VT.

Nah, it won't be hot. We left here in upstate NY in mid April one year. It was spring here. Snow all gone and had been for 2 or 3 weeks. Got up there and the snow was still a foot deep.
