Had some questions about the candied peppers. Basically hot peppers cooked in a sugar bath and canned. I used jalapeños for the first batch and as I had an abundance of hot wax peppers used those along with cayennes the next batch. The left over syrup is perfect for bbq mop sauce. Aesthetically the wax and cayenne peppers look much better if appearance matters t you....

Made a jar of these tonight in a trial run using a similar recipe. Initial taste testing says I’ll be making more.

Been making these for years. A small smear of cream cheese on a Ritz and top it with the candy. Absolutely delicious. People go nuts over it at pot lucks, BBQ's, and other gatherings.
We dont can ours. Make one batch and end up with 1 quart. Lasts the wife and I for a few months and stores well in the fridge.

I didn't can mine either, only had enough peppers out of the garden to make a pint, which was enough to do a test with anyways. The recipe I said to use within 3 months if not canning them. That won't be a problem on my end.

The recipe I used was the same as linked above, except it was 3 cups of sugar instead of 6 cups and it omitted the turmeric.

Try the one with turmeric and more sugar. You will be glad you did.
