the CHP is the best police agency in California. If anything is to get done they will do it.

I will NOT give you advice on how I think you should have handled the situation (bumper sticker to finish!) but I will commend your being level headed (smart!) enough to get that incident video'ed and reported immediately to the kHP!
It has been many decades since I frequented Oakland, San Francisco and Walnut Creek and I plan on NEVER going back! Your experience graphically depicts why.

Well, the CHP has apparently decided that they aren't interested in investigating what happened. After I submitted the report the day the incident happened, and sending several inquiries to confirm that they received the report, I finally got a response. In essence, the CHP says that it is too busy "assisting with the distribution of intel regarding the numerous fires burning in our area..." to even receive the video, let alone investigate it.

I get that California is dealing with wildfires, but I also used to assume that the primary mission of the CHP was to provide law enforcement services for CA highways, which is where the incident occurred. There's an entirely separate state agency for firefighting, but I also assume that Gavin Newscum has ordered the CHP to not prioritize investigations into BLM/Antifa stuff.

Maybe I'll get a call at some point, but right now, the fact that they aren't even interested in seeing the video of the Antifa guy pointing a gun at me says that this is far from a priority for them. A week isn't a long time, but every day that passes means the evidence gets stale, the guy who pulled the gun can create his own narrative about what happened (i.e., get rid of the gun, get his buddies to concoct an alibi, etc.). I assume that if anything is going to happen, it ain't gonna be law enforcement taking care of things.

Is there a "conservative" news outlet anywhere in the Bay Area? One of the smaller outlying cities perhaps? Seems like if there is, it might be just the type of story they'd like to use.

Not sure about that primary mission thing for CHP, but as I recall that's the gist of it. Can be used anywhere in the State for any reason though from my experience.

I WOULD investigate the scum bag and know where he lives, his woman's name, kids , their names and ages, and how many times a day and when he poops. Oh yeah, education, current job, or not, his hobbies, all legal firearms,............ You never know when it might become needed to defend yourself further.
