All over southern Oregon we have fires blowing up right now. The town of Ashland is literally on fire. People trapped on the roof, houses burning, WTF. The authorities are saying stay out, but facebook is blowing up. Yesterday we had clear skies and nothing. Today we had forecasts of 50 mph wind gusts and suddenly the whole world is on fire? We got fires scattered over 40-50 miles, no thunderstorms.
Anybody know what's going on?

We've got fires nearby, in Ashland, Eagle Point, Medford, Grants Pass, Merlin, Hugo.... All starting today or this afternoon.
*And Klamath Falls and Glide (near Roseburg)

Maybe you should stage a peaceful protest Real dick comment. I heard about a guy trapped on the roof of his house, and it was on fire, in Ashland. Another lady trapped and calling for help on facebook. Funny stuff huh jack?

20,000 acres gone up the North Umpqua with little control in sight. Smoke so thick that air attack is tough. Over 100 structures burned on the McKenzie. What bugs us is that none of these fires are lightning caused, all are human caused. In our area no one was working in the woods as we are in Level 4 (shut down) fire status. With the high winds, I will not be surprised to find that some of these fires were power line related. We have seen over 10 such fires in our county this year - and that was without the high winds and low humidity that occurred last night

Are these liberal strongholds or normal folk ? Ashland is extremely liberal but none of the outlying areas are. I can't figure out where all the fires are and it's so sudden!
