Working developing what we thought was a niche capability for a certain type of signal inside a copper box on Fort Meade. Walked out to see the TV as 2nd plane hit.

I drove down to Andrews to my reserve squadron and briefed and Ops advised maintenance to set the alert 15. No idea what we were going to do with an EA-6B we wanted to be ready to do something.

Two years later that "niche" solution had been deployed hundreds of times, produced a lot of intelligence and saved a lot lives.

I was in the hull of the True Grit glassing stringers and bulkheads in when the planes hit the towers. I didn't know anything was happening till my wife got home from the restaurant that afternoon. Bill Clinton murdered all those people as far as I'm concerned, biggest piece of crap ever.

For the next few days I and my family did what we could for stranded travelers. Food, a place to shower, use of a spare room, transportation to bus stations, rental car lots and help getting them back home. I was glad I was not with a buddy on a hunt to Alaska. He was stranded for more than a few days on the tundra without knowing why until bush planes were allowed to fly again.

One of my friends was "stuck" on bear hunt, can't remember where he was but I do remember him saying it was wonderful. Like getting an extended vacation for free.

He came home and tried to enlist. They wouldn't have him, too old and a spine full of metal.

Was out on a job site doing a geo technical soils and foundation assessment as well as testing and sampling. Office liberal called me on the cell phone and said a plane had crashed into the WTC. That's all he said a little later the boss called and said where were we at? I told him we'd be done in a half hr. , he said finish it and come straight in don't stop to fuel or anything. All curious as hell until hearing what had happened on the radio on the way back in. Until then I allways thought of all of us here as Americans after 9/11 I realized there are people who are here, who shouldn't be and should never be allowed in our country and they are muslims. Only few years later when the democrats blew smoke up every ones ass and put one in the Whitehouse I realized it was going to get to the point where they don't belong here either and as anyone can see they are proving that in new dork, Minneapolis, portland, Seattle, chitcago, and Kenosha. The time of the 2nd amendment and it's purpose has arrived. Commiecrats and towel heads all need to go.

I had just landed on an oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico. Our Helicopter was on the way in when they stopped air traffic. Watched it unfold on CNN in the TV room.

I was in prison. I walked into a block for a cable problem iirc and an inmate came into the office and said we're under attack, a plane flew into one of the towers. I headed down to my shop (I had a tv and cable there) and watched as the second plane flew into the other tower. Myself, an electrician that shared a shop with me and the machinist all spent the whole day watching everything. We're not far from where the plane went down in Somerset county so that really hit home. I'll never forget that day, doesn't seem so long ago either.

Work. Coworkers bro employed at WTC.

She was freaking out. He overslept that day and didn't make it in.

Heard about the hit, so we left as a group to a place w big screen TV...........and saw the 2nd hit.

I'm kinda open minded and worldly.
Told my ol lady when the Ryder truck blew in the basement, that it still standing was a monumental disgrace, and that theyd take it down w a plane.

So yeah, I expected it and the video didn't upset me.
But when the 2nd plane hit I was stunned.

A few tears.

Disbelief.
Upset for the victims.
And a hatred that burns to this day.

I was in Ravenna public schools. I was the superintendent of the construction company. I had just walked into the office, and the secretary said did you hear what has happened?

My nephew worked for a lawyer’s office in one of the towers. Luckily he was out of town!

We were shoeing horses getting ready for hunting season, had the radio in the barn on, put horse up and went to the house and watched # 2 plane hit the tower, I told Pablo, ranch hand the towers would fall, as I had been in them both when they were putting the windows in, and I thought they were poorly designed then, little did I know.

Was driving to the Windsor/Detroit area for work. No plans to cross the border, but they closed it.

Driving back on the highway the lanes on the opposite side were completely empty. I could've crossed over and drove pedal-to-the-metal and no cop would've stopped me.

Don’t have time to type a full narrative of the day, and lots of things stick with you from something like that as you can imagine. But the one that always chokes me up is recalling watching the F16 fighters circling manhattan providing air cover the rest of the day while escorting my wife across Central Park after her first day as a school teacher. It was eerily quiet and those jets were the only real sound you could hear.

Never been so proud to be a Vermonter in my life as I was knowing that the F-16s of the VT Air Guard were among the first on the scene...armed and ready.
