They are cool if you want a baha style truck. Personally I need to tow and the soft long travel suspension does not work well for that. The rear ends on em squat bad with even fairly light trailers. I would be more inclined to do an regular f150 an do aftermarket mods or go to the HD with the 7.3.
Buddy had one. 2017 model. He would take it to wind rock and ride it like a dang side by side. Legitimately hardcore off-road use. I had the pleasure of going with him once. It will definitely jump stuff. Was way harder on it than probably 99% of the people that own one. He was using a programmer to get more power but no clue what brand
Being a trust fund baby has perks according to him. He did drop a drive shaft one time, but other than being beat all to hell it never gave up. It was totalled in dec 2019. Got hit by a Prius literally going 90. Killed driver of Prius instantly. Totalled the truck. Broke both his arms. He is wanting a dodge trx now.
My 2018 Tundra has lost the new smell but that could be the onset of Covid.
Keep the Tundra.

Buddy had one for his going to town nice rig. It was the first year for the EB/10sp combo. Amazing machine for a stock truck.
He’d jump it over the railroad crossing down south of town here and it was like landing on a pillow. I’d take my single wheel 1 ton across it at 5mph and beat my teeth out, he’d hit it at 40 and laugh.
We pulled a 18’ enclosed trailer full of camp gear and wheelers to CO elk hunting with it one year and it was impressive pulling the passes with the little boosted V6. I think it got like 14 MPG doing it too. When we got there we unhooked and spent some time cruising greasy muddy forest service roads. Put it in whatever off-road mode and it would go like heck.
He swapped it off this year but had no complaints and no visits to the mechanics.

Glad your buddy made it out okay...
