Trump made a great joke about nominating Ted Cruz for the SCOTUS. He said, Ted Cruz is the only guy who could get 100 votes in the Senate- all the Republicans want him on the Supreme Court, and all the Democrats want to get him the Hell out of the Senate LOL. He is disliked in the Senate; very few friends there. Some may consider that a badge of honor.

Basically, If Trump gets a new justice in place, but loses the election, the Democrats are gonna pack the court, so Trump's pick ain't gonna matter much anyway. They can't "pack it" until there us another vacancy. Does not matter what they would like to do.
