79S- Went up your way for a DIY moose last year. Mid-September. Flew out of Casper......Salt Lake City......Seattle.....Alaska. Kids dropped me off after the zone 7 elk hunt......a bit exhausting, packing some elk out, a couple miles back. After arriving in Alaska.....we stopped at Wal-Mart for tent and sleeping bags before hunt. Impressed by plug-ins for campers.  Bought a 2 man $34 tent. Bud's bought good sleeping bags.......but my frugal instincts found a red one clearanced for $9.97. Swooped, oh yea. Mistake. We hunted close to TOK. PO'd a few residents pronouncing it tock, instead if Toke. 50 inch minimum.....saw 36 inchers dime a dozen. Froze rear end off in cheap sleeping bag. The walking was good.....til you dropped knee deep in muck. Lots of rutting sign. Walking, walking, walking........many creeks looked like flowing coffee. The MRC LH .338 came home bore-clean. Lovely wife picked me back up in Casper after hunt.......followed by another archery hunt Wyoming zone 7. Would I go again? In a second. I’m still waiting on anyone else besides billygoat to take me hunting?? Sounds like fun! My son lives up there. Fairbanks. He got a caribou last year. We are planning a moose hunt. Lol off his back porch. Dang things come right up into his back yard Can you take me hunting thanks.. I was just joking about you and Sal.. I hope we can be friends and hunt on your sons back porch next yr thanks.. your new best friend LMAO 😂 Don’t let 79 anywhere near your house. He’ll never leave. Word. 😂😎 Hey come on man... I've got deer, quail, Eurasian doves, jays, antelope walk by on occasion, and a herd of cows wandered in last week or so.

Sad. word Salty, I sure hope the first week of fall in BC is treating you and yours well. Doesn't seem like fall here, I'm thinking we may end up with the warmest Sept ever if this keeps up. Supposed to be up near 90F by the beginning of the next week. The aspens are turning color though, so maybe there will be a fall someday. I do believe there would be a lot less fooforaw if Shrapnel himself had started the thread. Clark, Dave, and Travis have a way of drawing out the negative energy from certain folks here. But, it's really not the 'flave's fault. Dafuq Geno, you were putting blankets on your tomatoes a couple weeks back and now 90 degrees? Thank you the first week of fall here has blessed us with a little rain. OK a lot of rain. Standing water on top of river silts/sands another dafuq? moment. Its all good the air is fuqing amazing! No smoke. No smog from Seattle or Vangkoover just gorgeous clean fall air mixed with a lot of rain. Two more days of that and we may see the sun again which might just be welcomed at this time. Now back to our regular programing of gang bullying, sophomoric insults, circle jerks and anything non Shrap. Speaking of which for a little southern stunted pretend moose that sucker is actually a dandy! Doesn't make the 3 brow tine rule that we need to go by around here but makes the 10 points on a side no problemo..... bang! Congrats Shrap now take a bow in absentia.

Yeah Salty,
was 36-38F on the thermometer the other morning , about 5' height where I have it now. Hoses had slush in them, water frozen from the little drip on the faucet too. But, the 'maters did fine under their plastic. I'm going to harvest some again today. Making kraut right now, I managed to get some good cabbage this year. Pepper harvest is going to/has sucked though.
I still do not know what this "rain" crap you guys are talking about. The only water around here that falls out of the air is that which comes from the well by way of the lawn sprinkler.
10 points for your mooses up there, or 3 brow tines? Do they issue any cow tags in your neck of the woods? If so, that's what I'd put in for so I could see a bull. It works for me for elk, why not moose.
Shrap did OK I think. Some of these fellas are just jealous. And as Travis says..............losers.
