I have a Savage 99 in 250-3000 and would a Leupold Rim Fire (2x7) handle the recoil of the 250? I was given the scope and like the magnification of 2x7. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Should. The only difference between their RF and CF scopes is the parallax-free distance for those w/o AO ... 60 yards for the RF, 150 yards for the CF. One nice plus to the RF 2-7X is a finer crosshair than the CF. I'd go for it without a second thought.

I'd call Leupold and ask them.

It might depend on which 2-7 Rimfire that you have. The one that I have is the Vari-X l that I think has the 28mm objective. That one is a lighter weight 2-7 than the newer ones, so they might have cut a few corners on the inside on that model. CallIng Leupold is your best bet. I wouldn’t gamble my hunt on it, but that’s just me. A .250 isn’t a hard recoiling rifle, so you might be okay with it. I like a little heavier Duplex for a bigger game rifle than what I see in the rimfire scopes.
My other auto is a .45

Tom Tom is correct. When I got a new .375 Holland and Holland, I wanted to test it out right away. I put on a Leupold rimfire 3-9x on it and shot it a LOT, never any problem at all. John
