WBH used Navy Colts. .36 caliber, low velocity, and round balls. Not very deadly by today's standards. Equal, roughly, to the the .380 ACP. Then you have to consider that those balls were soft lead, so they tended to badly deform if they hit a rib, increasing their destructiveness.

I read somewhere that most of the interviews Earp gave to Lake we’re tall tails told by Earp to build his reputation.
This doesn’t sound that way to me. Wyatt talks about what he’s seen and heard from others, but says nothing of himself or his own experience. And it agrees with what other more experienced folks have said, which tells one that it’s good advice.

Wyatt, like others that had been there and done it, usually didn’t feel the need to brag about the things they’d done. I’m guessing he was telling the truth. Not tall tails.

Norm Wyatt didn't write this, Stuart Lake did from his interviews with Wyatt.
I was thinking the other day how much I used to hate Bill Clinton. He was freaking George Washington compared to what they are now.
