Thanks 79S. My buddy is the one who actually has the tag this year and we are flying out later today. I am just going to back him up but am still excited. I have been to the same area twice in the past 10 years and each time got a nice boar. Hoping we will find a monster boar for my buddy!!

I really miss Kodiak and bear hunting. The best hunt of my life was a solo Kodiak bear hunt where I didn't even see a bear. The fog was so thick that I could hear one swatting salmon out of a stream and hear it crunching into them, but could not see it.

I would imagine your weather isn't much different from ours today. I did all my deer hunting on Afognak for 20yrs, didn't start on Kodiak until I started bear hunting and guiding on the SW end. The weather doesn't keep you campbound as much on Afognak!
I tend to use more than enough gun

They got some hunters out earlier heard the planes leaving.. but been pretty quiet. So on standby waiting for the call.. Man, I've been in your shoes too many times, and I don't envy you right now. If you can't get out within the next hour or so, I'd say you may as well just hit the brewery, and hope for tomorrow. I'll be down there next Friday, and really hoping not to have to spend the night in town. Good luck, and have safe travels/hunt!

Well rest of flights were axed pilots came and said they were not going to fly in this weather. So we are now backed up big time.. tomorrow another day..
