If like me, Connery has been an icon for the last 60 years of my life...

sounds dumb, but I feel a piece of my own life, is water that has passed under the bridge...

as a man to look up to... almost like the British equivalency of John Wayne..

God be with you Sean.... and thanks for all the entertainment...

its hard to respect an actor, be Sean was a man who walked the walk and talked the talk in his own daily life...

I remember the family going up to Scotland for the Edinburgh Flower Festival in 1964.. it starts off with a piper playing the bagpipes off a cliff side point, that Edinburgh Castle set upon...after that, Sean Connery was driving a Aston Martin DB3 down the road from the Castle, and came around a curb. and hit the ejection button of the right seat as a dummy is launched into the air and off the Cliff, as they were broadcasting the Theme Music from the James Bond film...

after wards he came down and mingled with the crowds... very personable man... with the crowds tho, it was hard to get close enough to him...bet I got within 20 to 25 feet to him.. and there must have been 25 people between me and him...

he had one tattoo I've heard... and it said Scotland forever...

Doubt we'll see another of him.... at least in my life time.. he was definitely a man's man...

Weirdest movie role, Zardoz 1974.

Yes indeed, rest in Peace, Sean, and that's for all the good times.

Well said.

every one else was just trying to keep up with the image he made of what a Secret Agent was about...

I was introduced to Mr Connery in the 2nd half of his career (Untouchables, Hunt for Red Oct, The Rock, etc). Knew he had been 007 but didn’t see him as such until 40yrs after he made those films. Great filmography top to bottom. Seemed like a principled man as well. Will miss knowing he’s out there somewhere.

“One ping only” in honor of Sean Connery today.

R.I.P. sir. We've lost a great one. I like that analogy of " The British equivalency of John Wayne". Did he really have that "Scotland Forever" tattoo that I heard about many years ago? Just curious, as I'm 50% Scottish heritage, as my paternal grandparents were both born & raised in Scotland.

I think it was Roger Moore who took over for Connery after a long run of Connery films. I remember he'd had a big fight on a beach and of course beat the snot out of his attackers. As he walked away with his clothes still neat, he said something like "I'd like to see the other Bond do that without messing up his shirt".

To me Roger Moore was the second best James Bond. Sean Connery will always be the best!
