Hello all, newbie here ! I'm a collector of savage arms and am currently in search of a no-drill scope mount for a 99 chambered in 300 savage. Hopefully you guys could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance !

You won't be disappointed with Lightfoots mount that he makes. Ifin they were being made back when the Stithes were being made and sold, Lightfoots would have given them alot of competition IMO. In many respects I think they're better. Fifty years from now they'll be collector items.

I mounted one of Mike's no-drill Savage mounts on my 1940 S99 .300 savage EG today.

I topped it off with an old Leupold M8 4X I had sitting around (its a little nicked up scope but perfect glass)

Before this, I had a Marbles tang peep sight and the rifle was pretty accurate out to 100 yards with the peep, about 2" MOA. I should be able to tighten that group up now and bring it out to 200 yards now,eh? Most of my shots in Montana for deer have been in the 100 to 200 yard range.

Mike, have you considered making a video of the process of making them? I think it'd be interesting. However I'm sure you have better things to do smile

Thank YOU!
Take a look at my rings, they look identical to the photo you sent me in correspondence. Are these low or medium Leupold rings? I don't know what I have, they were gifted to me.

By all means, record the process, but don’t publish it. Don’t screw up your business. Sell the video when you decide to “retire” from producing them.
