Maybe bird feeders are Bear Pinatas ?
It just seems odd they’d like bird seed, I know they like grubs and honey, but bird seed ?

NO bears down here on the flats where I live.
The deer get after the bird feeder at times though.

Bears eat anything! They even like motor oil! Had one raid a logging site years ago, bit into and drank a gallon of oil! I always wondered how long it took to send that out the other end!

Very common where I live against the foothills in Colorado.
Both bear and elk will annihilate a bird feeder if given the chance.
When they are packing on pounds getting ready to hibernate or survive winter, every calorie counts. We have had elk walk through our front yard and eat suet we left out for birds in the dead of winter.

They are omnivores - will eat anything they can outrun or dig up. Pure-dee hell on my mom's hummingbird feeders, years back - slap 'em and lick the juice off the sidewalk!

Because they can't go to the store and buy Grape Nuts.

Heh ! I’d also ask why they eat the seat off of a ATV. Twice.

Especially those from Chicago!
Well we're Green and we're Gold, and we play better when it's cold. All us Cheese heads have our favorite superstar. We love Brett Favre.
