Prayers for the whole family Prayers for all involved including the surgeons and nurses.
I had a good friend who had similar guilt feelings for unknowingly passing on an inherited heart defect. Perhaps guilt isn't the correct word, more like profound sadness that members of his family had to deal with the same issues. He was given seven more years thanks to a heart transplant.
Peace and comfort to you all.
Lost my first wife to an inherited heart problem, her folks didn't know. We had no children to pass it on.

Is the youngest daughter the one getting the transplant today from the teacher today?
Or has the oldest one had an organ match come up?
I have 3 kids, I’m not getting them tested yet till we get some 30 year term life locked in before pre existings are noted. I became uninsurable at age 39 after testing and genetic markers.
Oh well, at age 21, instead of buying carburetors and glass pack mufflers and grubbing all my money at Sonic like cecil 30/30 or catman, I bought life term insurance. In another year, I’ll outlive the policy. 👍

Truth be told, the donor usually suffers more in recovery than the recipient. Yes They liked to killed my wife. Left a 1mm vein, not sealed off well. Buttoned her back up and then after about 3 days she collapsed in the hosp cafeteria, hit her head. Had to open her back up and wash out all the abdominal hemmoraging. She stayed in icu another 4 days beyond me.

My youngest has some genetic thing and its the first time its popped up.
Yup, its just hard to express....even when ya didnt know, you feel responsible.
Its a sadness, weight....that never leaves.
On the good days, the kid is tough.....you still feel weak.
