I have AVG free on everything. I am happy.

It does quite often tell me I need buy the full version for better protection.

I haven't had any Anti-Virus to fail me in 5 years.

I hate windows with a passion, they should provide you protection for their inferior software.

Back when I suffered with windows MalwareBytes was about the best out, I have no idea now.

uBlock Origin is the best ad blocker for Windows. I used Avast! and Malwarebytes (both the free version) as anti-malware.

Just keep saying yes to all the programs marketed with the laptop you bought. I bought/loaded Office365 and McAfee for a price. The software went on without a hitch and it updates and works in the background. The manufactures put a lot of work to make it a silent process, or you can whine about Microsoft software that was not installed properly.
