Dad (ole_270) shot a doe and 10 miles away I shot a small buck at the same time 30 minutes into the Kansas opener.

Doe had the fat rolling off of her. Buck was pretty lean.

On a cold day that gummy fat really sticks on a knife. One of the reasons I like a fixed blade better than a folder is trying to clean that stuff out of the recesses of a folder is such a pain in the rear.

Filled a coffee can with hot water and let it sit for a few minutes and it wiped right off. I was going to use a new Great Eastern Cutlery liner lock, but passed for the very reason you stated.

Hot water and an old tooth brush are your friends in that situation

Yeah, a little liquid dish soap, hot water and a stiff toothbrush gets it done.
