Yeah, I’m about to take some profit. It’s been a good couple of years.

It seems counter intuitive given covid has devastated small business. Irrational?

Looks on on the computer screen, but it's not real money until you spend it on something you can hold in your hand.

You simply have to hit the sell button.

It's been a good year for the investor. I hope the same can be said of next year, but I am skeptical.

I dumped a few dog mutual funds a few months ago that were lagging in the recovery. Not sure what the portfolio would look like if those had kept pace with the others but I think I’m right at 20% overall for the year when I looked yesterday. Wifey was a little less. Add another 1% today probably. The shares of two mutual funds I bought in March and April are up closer to 70% for just those transactions. FBGRX and POAGX. I dumped some oil heavy funds that was holding everything back

I have some buddies that are able to pull the plug and retire but are basing it all on playing the market. It seems crazy to base your life's savings on something that's just 1's and 0's and could be worth half what it is tomorrow what it was today. To be fair I have a fair amount invested, but I can make all my payments and buy food and gas if it all disappeared tomorrow. I see it as a gamble. Odds are better than throwing it down at a casino, but still.........

Thirty five percent change to the good since March of this year. And now here comes Biden to screw it up. Looking forward to the midterms and a reset. Three and a half years to retirement as today is my birthday. I may punch out in two when I hit medicare but I like working as long as I get my weekends off.

Trillions of stimulus money and 0% interest rates, with lots more to come, does have a salutary affect on the market - for the short term.

I just saw a 100% return on a foreclosure property. Obviously that doesn’t happen often, but If the real estate market crashes I have a piece of land. I can take a piss or plant a potatoe on it. We’re 40% real estate, 40% stocks and 20% cash right now, but I still prefer real estate by a wide margin. Long term I’d been better off to go all real estate except for the wife’s 401K her ex employer used to match 2-1 up to 5%.

Used some of my gains this year to add some key acreage to our hunting property. Thank you again President Trump!

You can always lock it in at the bank for 0.25% interest.............there are conservative mutual funds if you are getting close to retirement or nervous about the more risky ones.

Giving financial advice is like giving marital advise.
That said what goes up comes down.
Fundamentals are being ignored and some time in the future the correction is going to come. THE question is just how far down the road can they kick the can. My .02
