Storybook hunters and shooters wear THOSE brands.

Cabelas kind of “bridged the gap” between the high dollar stuff, and the “garbage that just happens to be camo”.

Bass Pro has replaced most of the Cabelas gear with the Redhead crap. I don’t need Kuiu to sit in a deer blind, but at least the Cabelas stuff was decent. I can get “Gamewinner” brand st Academy that’s as good as the Redhead, and a heckuva lot cheaper, to sit in a dry 40 degree box...

True story. I dont own a single flannel shirt. I do wear khakis frequently however.

Sportsmanship had too much inventory to survive. They had a huge fly fishing section in Ames iowa. Really? Ames? There isn't a trout for 100 miles from Ames and even then only in 1 direction. (Yes, I know it's actually Ankeny). The state does stock rainbows that you can catch with gummy bears but that doesnt justify the inventory they have.

The danger to the outdoor industry is Bass Pro and Cabelas plus Sportsman's will control too much market share of the retail outdoor industry. This should be "Anti-Trust" but won't even be considered.

Never bought anything from Sportsman Warehouse. If Walmart don't have it, then I don't need it.

BPS ruined Cabela's, but maybe BPS learned something from having screwed up Cabela's so badly and will let SW run as an independent operating company. The quality of Cabela's clothing lines dropped like a rock when they stopped being Cabela's brands and started being BPS brands.

We have a local farm and suburban supply store chain in the valley, D & B Supply. As demographics have changed, of course, so has the store. They now cater more to the wanna be C'boys on their little "ranchettes".

But you can still drop in and buy baling twine, fence posts, Round-up, or plow shares. But the important part of this treatise is that they now feature a pretty decent selection of long or short guns, optics, and reloading supplies, along with the Carhartt, Mucks, and Tony Lamma.

Over the last several years, my purchasing dollars have primarily migrated from Cabelas to Sportsmans. I predict that migration shall continue unabated toward D & B Supply.

Exactly! I have no idea where the nearest Scheels is to me. I used to drive 2 hours to Cabela's once or twice a year. Then a Sportsman's Warehouse took over a Field and Stream nearby a couple of years ago. Now I only have Dick's(head) and Sportsman's Whorehouse within a half hours drive. IDK where I'm gonna shop for stuff now! Fugggg Dicks and Fugggg Basspro.
