As coinkydink would have it, not a minute after I posted that, SWMBO said, "I'm going to COSTCO." So I went along and discovered that those socks are now offered in a six-pack versus my slightly older four-pack, and the fiber content matches. So now I'm not sure if I have their V1 or V2 socks - but I now have 10 pairs of them!

Also picked up a new pair of golf pants and a sweatshirt to go with the socks - all in grey. Hitting a theme here!

I wore a pair of sub-par socks all day yesterday and hated it! LOL

The only socks I wear are Smart Wool.

Evah.

They last 12-24 months.

Go through 7-8 pair every year.

I tried their 7 year socks last year, but I returned them. After a very short time they developed big time pilling, especially on the ankles, and also had numerous pulled threads over much of the surface. To their credit, they refunded me with no problem.

Okay maybe 5-6 pair per year.

And maybe I'm fussy.
(about socks)

The Duckworth merino under shirt and long johns showed up last Tuesday.
(made in USA)

Been so warm I needed another lightweight version of underwear.

It's nice.

My wife bought me a few pairs of the orange toe darn tough's for Christmas. They are hard to beat especially when it things get sweaty in the summer. Seem to last a lot longer than other brands ive tried.

Usually buy some type of merino long john each fall aswell. If the stuff wasn't so expensive id have more

I have a 6 year old pair of darn tough socks. I’ve worn them about once every 10 days since buying them. Since switching from cotton to wool my wife is jealous of how soft my feet are. I bought her some wool socks but apparently the softening of the feet is not related to wearing wool socks. I’m thinking about becoming a foot model.

I've been wearing thin 100% wool undershirts that I got on clearance from Ramlersway a couple years ago. Ramblersway has a lot of froufrou stuff, but some of it is a great bargain when on clearance. The downside to thin wool, is it's somewhat delicate when wet and it requires special care. That said I've found nothing warmer than thin wool base layers when active.
