I have seen many people killed, a lot of women and children too, civilians. A huge number of people suffered, were hungry and cold and were terrified through that period.

But I can count on one hand the dead or hungry politicians in that time.

Things were good for them through that period. Some of them ended up even richer. A lot of them are still powerful in the same or different parties, and are still talking about “their people” or “ causes” or “fear from others”.

It is the way it works.

i know a .gov employee in DC who has worked 1 week on/1 week off all during this crap. no reduction in pay or vacation either.

I see a lot of Bosnians at the range. I knew some Bosnians who were really into guns. I think they learned a big lesson then. Never ever be unarmed. That is the most important "take" (woke) I get from that conflict. Don't be unarmed.

Most politicians in DC now aren't worth the lead it'd take to knock them over, and they don't deserve the dignity of a bullet.

I talked with a couple of Bosnians and they hate Democrats with a passion as they saw first hand what the little twats do.

I grew up with stories of my parents under Nazi occupation, and it always came down to being able to grow your own food, and keeping the fire in the stove. Stuff all got taken, as did young girls and young men (for different reasons). They kept their heads down, tried to keep some of their animals alive, and grew and stored what food they could. Few things were as valuable as a fresh egg or fresh butter.

I remember an interview on 9/11 where you could hear bodies hitting the ground from the twin towers. The people on camera didn't even flinch. Stuck with me.

As a kid, I had next door neighbors with Nazi tattoos from the concentration camps. They warned me to be vigilant.

Tracey, I hope you get the hell out of that concrete schithole soon. While I do live in a suburban environment, I'm surrounded by nature. Ex: huge lake right across the street and 5 more within 1/4 mi of my house. Canals full of fish. Birds everywhere. Huge iguanas. In a former job, I had the opportunity to meet many Holocaust survivors. For some reason, they were surprised I knew about their tattoos and what they represented.

The most prevalent defense after the war was "I was just following orders." Sounds alot like some LEO's and civil servants today.

Never said nothing about shooting anyone. Ropes work fine, lampposts are stout. I can build a mean gallows or guillotine. Always favored that scene in Braveheart where Wallace rides his horse into the ahole’s bedroom and smacks the bastard with that spiked ball on a chain, too.
