Just watched the Clooney movie about finding a new planet

I thought it sucked

I’ve spent a lil time in cold weather conditions, you’re not gonna fall through the ice, put a dry parka over wet clothes w the wind howling & dig a hole in the snow & live.

Even the space travelers, 5 people for a 2 year mission ? And then gonna split up 2 stay & 2 try to make it back to earth ? (1 died)

I thought the whole thing preposterous 🤦🏼‍♂️

I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

I got half way through The Midnight Sky and came to the same conclusion. There are a lot of odd things going on. Do they really have little kids in arctic research stations? Do astronauts on long term missions really forget their birth control and get pregnant en route? How did the ice change from strong enough to support the vehicle to not strong enough in the middle of a blizzard? And, as you noted, if you fall in arctic water in the middle of a blizzard and don't get warm and dry out immediately, you freeze to death.

I gave up.

You guys are deep thinkers.

I usually get stuck on "his rank is on backwards," or "that's not what that's called," or "how's that Glock making a cocking noise?"

I can usually tolerate a certain amount of nonsense in a movie,. But it's one thing to ask the viewer to suspend disbelief, but this movie required that you hang it from a church steeple.

It's 10 episodes I think and it's well worth it.

Skankhuntr42, I Agree. I just finished it, too. Talk about the FBI squashing information. I had never heard of Eric Rudolph. The whole reason Richard Jewell got put in the position he was put in.

Been watching the Last Kingdom on Netflix. It's pretty good, but I'm on the third or fourth season and it is getting kind of tiresome. I can summarize and save everybody a lot of time:

Spoilers:

1. Hero Mullet Guy doesn't fit in with the Vikings
2. Hero Mullet Guy doesn't fit in with the English
3. English king screws Hero Mullet Guy over
4. Hero Mullet Guy helps English king anyway, because reasons
5. Hero Mullet Guy gets a new piece of tail to bang
6. Hero Mullet Guy kills Vikings
7. Repeat, every season

Just watched Nightcrawler on Netflix.

It was good and made me feel better as a human being.

Southland.

Cop show about L.A. Ran for 5 seasons 2009-2014. Kinda like movie End of Watch, but a series.

Storyline and acting are pretty good, too. Plus, no Damn SJW garbage (so far).

Clooney was in charge, top to bottom. So, it's his baby.

If you’re feeling nostalgic the 1980 version The Fog is on prime.
