I don't know how to post my pics here(I'm pretty new) but I have 2 rifles in 7mm-08, my personal favorite caliber. One is a 1988 Remington 700 mountain rifle and the other is a 1994 Winchester 70 featherweight classic. Both wear Leupold vx2 3x9's.

How do you guys like those 2.5x8's?

I'd love to go lighter than my 6x SuperChicken but loath to give up the reliability.

I assume the tape on the muzzle is to keep out dirt or snow. What is the purpose of the tape just forward of the forearm? Thanks

I like it on a compact rig, but find the 3.5-10 version a touch easier to get behind. Both of those scopes, along with the later VX-II and VX-2 3-9x40 are easy for my eyes to work with. The 3-series glass seems a hair better.

Replace the tape at the end after you shoot.

Dang good looking 7-08 fellas. I’ve got a Tikka Compact 7-08 but I’m always on the lookout for a Montana or M70 Featherweight.

The Compact is my daughters but she’s kind enough to let me use it now and again!
