Bonnie Bishop Susan Tedeschi Patsy Cline Ann Wilson Linda Ronstandt
I saw Bonnie Bishop in a small venue in Bluffton SC about 2 years ago. It was a good show and after got to chat with her and some of her musicians. I enjoyed it. Still not my favorite, but I'd see her again if she played here in NY. She was easy on the eyes too.
Flip a coin . . . depends upon what my mood is at the time.

I like Catherine Russell for when I feel like some jazz/blues. Also, her piano player, Mark Shane, is a real good friend of mine. We shoot skeet together. I have accompanied him on my cajon drum at some private parties. He's a real talent.
"I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari Tehachapi to Tonopah I've driven every kind of rig that's ever been made Driven the back roads, so I wouldn't get weighed...
And if you give me... Weed, whites, and wine And show me a sign, I'll be willin'....."
I drove the Big Rig over the road for 8 years. This is a song about truck driving and I love it. There is a beauty and a majesty about staying out on the road for weeks at a time and driving over the open roads and this song captures it. You have to do it for years, to understand it. I know, Linda never had a CDL but she is an artist and this is some great artistic expression.
I have driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed a dozen times. I always succeeded in dodging the scales, maybe I was lucky.
I will say, the open road of Interstate 20 west of Sweetwater Texas at 2 am, rolling west with the full moon shining on the white sands and the cactus of the desert, popping a 5 Hour Energy and smoking a Marlboro, that is a wonderful way to spend a few hours on God's Green Earth.
When I was in the Loves Truck Stop in Midland Texas for the night, out there on Interstate 20, stopped for a 10 hour break, at midnight, I might play this song four times in a row. Love this song.
l told my pap and mam I was going to be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. Make your life go here. Here's where the peoples is. Mother Gue, I says, the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world, and by God, I was right. - Del Gue
Aretha can sing, but damn she’s one ugly ass woman. She definitely fell out of the ugly tree and hit every damn branch on the way to the ground.
"Allways speak the truth and you will never have to remember what you said before..." Sam Houston Texans, "We say Grace, We Say Mam, If You Don't Like it, We Don't Give a Damn!"
Eva Cassidy sings Paul Simon. A great rendition of a classic "Kathy's Song." I never heard of Eva. I just looked her up. Died at age 33 from cancer. Damn.
